On Friday, June 8, 2018 Door County Partnership for Children and Families (DCPCF) members and supporters gathered together to celebrate a years worth of accomplishments. The Door County Partnership for Children and Families co-chairs, Ann Smejkal and Mary Ellen Smith, welcomed everyone to the celebration and thanked everyone for their continued support and participation.
Candis Dart, Partnership Coordinator shared what the sub-committees have been working on over the past year as well as the Screening Workgroup and provided a financial update.
Tenley Koehler, UW-Extension of Door County, went over the results of I Can Problem Solve, Raising a Thinking Child classes, Block Parties and shared the Myrna Shure Documentary which featured Sturgeon Bay for committing to the curriculum at Sunset Elementary school and through classes for parents provided by a collaborative effort between UW-Extension, Door County Public Health, Wisconsin Partnership Program and the DCPCF.
Rebecca Nicholson, DCPCF Community Connector, shared Community Connections success, parent outreach efforts, Google Analytics for the DCPCF website (doorcountyparents.com), and an introduction to this year’s recipient of the “Business of the Year Award”, Boettcher Communications for their continued support and generosity donating the cost to host the doorcountyparents.com website.
A special thank you also goes out to HOPE church for graciously donating use of their fellowship hall and video/sound equipment for this event.
